A child’s day matters to the people caring for them, at their centre and at home. Families want to understand how the day has gone. Educators want to share useful information while keeping their attention on the children around them.
We built Care around those two needs. Now in Beta, Care brings routine care information together so educators can review it and share a daily summary with families after their child has checked out. Care is available where a centre has enabled it.
Making space for attention
Routine updates are valuable, but preparing and sending each one takes attention. Care is designed to give that communication a thoughtful place in the day.
Educators have an opportunity to look over the records, check the details and consider what would help a family understand their child’s experience. The review matters: a record tells you something happened; context can help explain what it meant for that child.
Our aim is useful communication that sits alongside the work of caring for children. Care’s daily-summary approach is a deliberate part of that design.
Bringing the day together
The educator’s view starts with a room and a day. A timeline brings attendance and Care records together, with saved details available when an educator opens a record.
That shared view gives the team a place to look back over the day before sharing. After a child has checked out, educators can review their information and send the family a summary. It is a reviewed account of the day, with educators choosing when to share it.
Useful context for home
A daily summary can help families understand their child’s day and plan the evening. It can also give them a starting point for a conversation with their educators.
Those conversations remain essential. Every child and family is different, especially while settling into a centre. Families can speak with their centre about the communication they need, including any information or reassurance they need sooner.
Care is in Beta, and availability depends on the centre. To explore the approach, read why Care brings routine updates together. Educators can also learn how to find Care records for a room and day.
